In a press conference yesterday, Mayor Tom Richards responded to a New York Post article that claimed that many upstate cities (Rochester included) were facing bankruptcy and considering establishing control boards. Richards said the city is not broke and disagrees with the tone of the NY Post column. While he acknowledges that upstate cities are facing challenges, Rochester "is in better shape than most of those cities... and has maintained a strong credit rating." Rochester City Newspaper:
