Sorrentino trained in kitchens across Tuscany and Barcelona for roughly a decade before relocating to Rochester in 2003 and joining Amore in 2015. After a 19-month closure during the pandemic, the restaurant reopened in December 2021 with a substantially revised menu featuring approximately 80–90 percent new dishes.

The East Avenue Wegmans is located near the intersection with Winton Road, surrounded by the residential streets of the Upper East Side neighborhood. Parking is available in the Wegmans lot.
