Overview

Good Luck is a New American restaurant and bar located at 50 Anderson Ave in Rochester's Neighborhood of the Arts (NOTA). Opened in 2008 by owner Chuck Cerankosky, the restaurant occupies a converted industrial warehouse space inside the Anderson Arts Building. Chef Dan Martello leads the kitchen, preparing globally influenced dishes built around seasonal, regional ingredients. Good Luck is open Wednesday through Saturday evenings and also operates the adjacent Jackrabbit Club, a nearly 7,000-square-foot event venue available for private gatherings.

What They Offer

The menu is organized around shareable plates with influences spanning Italian, French, Japanese, and other culinary traditions. Core offerings include:

  • Handmade pastas
  • Smokehouse dishes
  • Seasonal vegetable preparations highlighting regional produce
  • A signature burger made with house-ground grass-fed beef, served on a brioche bun with cheddar and vegetable slaw

The bar program features craft cocktails, including inventive options like fat-washed and spirit-forward drinks, alongside a curated wine list. Good Luck also hosts themed dining events such as tequila cocktail dinners, wine pairing evenings, and open-fire boar roasts.

Known For

Good Luck helped establish Rochester's craft cocktail and shared-plates dining culture when it opened in 2008. The restaurant earned recognition from Esquire as one of the Best Bars in America in 2016 and has been voted Best Restaurant in CITY Magazine's Best of Rochester reader poll. Its cocktail program has separately won top honors in local reader surveys. The dimly lit, high-ceilinged warehouse setting and globally eclectic cooking style have made it a long-running fixture of the NOTA dining scene.
