Howe & Rusling is a full-service wealth management firm headquartered at the Culver Road Armory in Rochester, NY. The firm traces its roots to 1930, when Winthrop "Wint" Howe launched an investment counseling practice; he later partnered with Lee Rusling in 1940 to form the company that still bears both names. After spending 93 years in downtown Rochester — including a long tenure at the Rochester Club Centre building on East Avenue — the firm relocated to a newly built headquarters at 165 Culver Road in December 2023. Howe & Rusling is 100% employee-owned and identifies as both woman-owned and veteran-owned, a structure that took shape through a 2006 management acquisition led by current president Craig Cairns and expanded further in 2020.

As a registered investment advisor and fee-only fiduciary, Howe & Rusling provides financial planning, investment management, estate planning, and tax strategy. The investment team — which includes three Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charterholders — builds portfolios using individual equities, individual bonds, and exchange-traded funds across seven distinct strategies:

• Core Equity and Equity Income (actively managed U.S. stocks)
• Total Return and Total Current Fixed Income (actively managed bonds)
• Domestic, Global, and Global Equity Income ETF strategies

Clients can also request socially, religiously, or environmentally conscious screening for any strategy. The firm's financial planning practice covers retirement, tax, and estate considerations through a team of credentialed planners.

Howe & Rusling has maintained a continuous presence in the Rochester financial community since 1930, making it one of the area's longest-operating independent advisory firms. Its founders were among the first individuals in the country to earn the CFA designation in 1963. The firm reached $1 billion in assets under management in 2017 and has continued to grow since, operating additional offices in Syracuse, Boise, and Colorado Springs alongside its Rochester headquarters.

The firm's headquarters occupies Suite 100 at 165 Culver Road, inside the Culver Road Armory — a mixed-use development that also houses dining, retail, and wellness tenants near the intersection of Culver Road and East Avenue in Rochester's Upper East Side neighborhood.
