Founded in 1972, the firm has grown to approximately 150 employees across offices in Rochester and Ithaca, generating roughly $24 million in annual revenue and ranking among INSIDE Public Accounting's top 300 firms nationwide. Insero operates under an alternative practice structure: Insero & Co. CPAs, LLP handles attest and assurance engagements, while Insero Advisors, LLC provides tax, consulting, and other non-attest services. Nancy Catarisano serves as CEO.

In 2025, the firm received a strategic investment from private equity firm Rallyday Partners and subsequently merged in DeMott & Smith CPAs, adding 12 team members including two new partners. Office hours are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. The downtown location places the firm within walking distance of City Hall, the Genesee River waterfront, and Rochester's central business district.
