Locals Only

Locals Only is a breakfast and lunch cafe at 311 Alexander Street in Rochester's East End neighborhood, NY. Opened in 2018 by owners Louie Maier and Gaetano Abbate, the cafe operates as a quick-service concept that combines a coffee and juice bar, a full kitchen, and a cocktail bar under one roof. The space features a modern, minimalist design highlighted by a mural from local artist Muhammad Zaman, commissioned through the UUU Art Collective. Locals Only is open daily from 8 AM to 3 PM and welcomes both dine-in guests and grab-and-go orders.

The kitchen serves breakfast, lunch, and brunch with an emphasis on seasonal ingredients, including numerous vegan and vegetarian options. Brunch staples include chicken and waffles and steak and eggs alongside other hearty classics. On the beverage side, Locals Only rotates coffee beans monthly from different New York State roasters and maintains a 12-tap bar that pours cocktails on tap as well as beer. The cafe also runs a Coffee Club membership program, provides catering services, and rents out private event space.

Locals Only is built around a commitment to New York State sourcing — its food, spirits, and coffee beans come from local farms, distilleries, and roasters across the state.
