Security Risk Advisors (SRA) is a cybersecurity consulting firm founded in 2010 and headquartered in Philadelphia. The company opened its Rochester, NY office in September 2019 at the Culver Road Armory, a mixed-use development on Culver Road in the Upper Monroe neighborhood. SRA employs nearly 350 people across offices in the United States, Ireland, and Australia, serving Fortune and Global 1000 organizations in industries including financial services, healthcare, pharmaceuticals, technology, and retail.

The Rochester expansion was supported by a $900,000 commitment from Empire State Development through the Excelsior Jobs program. SRA selected the Finger Lakes region in part because of its proximity to 19 colleges and universities, which the firm cited as a pipeline for cybersecurity talent.

SRA delivers a range of cybersecurity services that span both offensive and defensive disciplines:

• Cloud security assessments across Azure, AWS, and Google Cloud
• 24/7 managed security operations (XDR and CyberSOC)
• Operational technology (OT) security
• Risk and compliance consulting
• AI security solutions

The firm also develops proprietary technology platforms. VECTR is a benchmarking tool used to track purple team exercises and measure threat resilience. The SCALR platform suite includes modules for security data lake architecture, vulnerability management, and SOC automation using AI-driven workflows.

SRA has built its practice around specialized offensive and defensive security testing, with a particular focus on purple teaming — coordinated exercises where attack simulations and defensive responses are measured together. The firm holds multiple Microsoft security specializations and was named Cribl's Global Growth Partner of the Year in 2024. In 2025, private equity firm Recognize made a strategic investment in SRA, the company's first institutional capital raise, to accelerate growth in its advisory, managed security, and software lines.

The Rochester office occupies Suite 210 at 155 Culver Road, inside the Culver Road Armory — a repurposed historic armory building that now houses a mix of retail shops, restaurants, wellness studios, and professional offices. The Armory sits in the Upper Monroe neighborhood, east of downtown Rochester and close to the intersection of Culver Road and East Avenue. The surrounding area includes the neighborhood commercial corridor along Monroe Avenue and is a short drive from the University of Rochester campus to the south.
