Lebanese-owned Mediterranean restaurant serving Rochester since 1994. Voted Best Middle Eastern Restaurant in City Newspaper's Best Of Awards multiple years.

Overview

Sinbad's Mediterranean Cuisine is a Lebanese and Mediterranean restaurant at 719 Park Ave in Rochester, NY. Opened in March 1994 by Ziad Naoum, the restaurant grew when his brother Imad joined the business in 1999 after emigrating from Lebanon. The two brothers have operated Sinbad's together since, building it into a long-standing fixture of the Park Avenue dining scene. The restaurant underwent major renovations in 2001 and 2006, expanding the kitchen, enhancing the dining room, and adding a patio for outdoor seating.

What They Offer

Sinbad's menu centers on Lebanese and Mediterranean staples prepared fresh daily. Guests can choose from a range of options including:

  • Falafel, hummus, baba ghanoush, and tabbouleh
  • Grilled kabob platters and specialty meat and seafood plates
  • Pita rolls in both toasted and untoasted varieties
  • Mediterranean-style pizzas the restaurant calls "pitza pitas"
  • Soups such as lentil, cacik, and vegetarian chili
  • Basil linguine pasta dishes
  • Traditional Lebanese desserts including baklava, bird nest pastry, and mamoul cookies

Beer, wine, fresh juices, and coffee round out the drink menu. Sinbad's also offers carry-out, catering services, and gift certificates. Hours are Monday through Saturday from 11 AM to 9 PM and Sunday from noon to 8 PM.

Known For

Sinbad's has earned repeated recognition as Best Middle Eastern Restaurant in City Newspaper's annual Best Of Rochester awards, winning in 2002, 2003, 2005, 2006, and 2007. The restaurant has also received coverage from the Rochester Democrat and Chronicle. With more than three decades on Park Avenue, Sinbad's is one of the corridor's longest-running independent restaurants, operated continuously by the Naoum family since its founding.

Location & Neighborhood

Sinbad's sits along the Park Avenue corridor in Rochester's Park Avenue neighborhood, a walkable stretch of independent shops, cafés, and restaurants between Alexander Street and Culver Road. The neighborhood hosts the annual Park Avenue Summer Art Festival and draws foot traffic year-round. In warmer months, Sinbad's patio offers sidewalk seating along the avenue. During winter, a fireplace inside adds warmth to the dining room. Street parking is available along Park Avenue and nearby side streets.
