Whiskeys Upper Deck

Whiskeys Upper Deck is a waterfront bar and restaurant located on the second floor of the Port of Rochester terminal building in Rochester's Charlotte neighborhood. The venue is a second location from Bob Youst, owner of Whiskey River Pub and Grill, and occupies the 5,500-square-foot space that previously housed Jetty at the Port. Situated where the Genesee River meets Lake Ontario, the restaurant opened during Memorial Day weekend and operates Thursday through Sunday — with Thursday hours from 4:00 PM to midnight, Friday and Saturday from noon to 2:00 AM, and Sunday from noon to 8:00 PM.

The menu draws from the Whiskey River kitchen's comfort food roots while expanding into a broader range of dishes, including salads, fish, pastas, and chops. The venue holds a full liquor license and runs bars both indoors and on the outdoor deck. Beyond regular dining, Whiskeys Upper Deck hosts private events and offers catering for occasions such as birthday parties, corporate functions, rehearsal dinners, and holiday gatherings. A family-friendly dining room, a separate pub area, and an upstairs private event room give the space flexibility for different group sizes.

Whiskeys Upper Deck is built around live music, with local bands performing four to five times per week across the weekend schedule. The venue leans into a Nashville-inspired atmosphere with rock-and-roll and jazz-blues décor throughout the interior. Its centerpiece is a four-sided bar that faces the outdoor deck, where guests can watch performances while looking out over the Genesee River and Lake Ontario. Adult-style games on the patio add another draw for visitors spending an afternoon or evening on the waterfront.

The restaurant sits at 1000 North River Street on the second floor of the Port of Rochester building in Charlotte, a neighborhood at the northwestern edge of Rochester roughly seven miles north of downtown. Charlotte is defined by its position at the mouth of the Genesee River on the Lake Ontario shoreline, and nearby landmarks include the historic Charlotte Lighthouse, Ontario Beach Park, and the Port of Rochester Marina.
