Something rare is happening at Photo City Music Hall this September: Bahama Mama is coming home. Formed in the early 1970s after a few young Victor musicians heard reggae for the first time at a local barnhouse, Bahama Mama became part of the earliest wave of American reggae — touring with Toots and the Maytals and Burning Spear while building a fiercely loyal Rochester following. Their successor group, the Majestics, was inducted into the Rochester Music Hall of Fame in 2023. This September 19 show is a 50th anniversary reunion, and it is a chance to be part of a story that belongs to this city.
