Borinquen Dance Theatre Celebrates 45 Years Tonight at The Arbor Loft
Saturday, November 7, 2026 at 6:00 PM
The Arbor Loft, Rochester, NY
What's Happening
For 45 years, the Borinquen Dance Theatre has been teaching Rochester's youth bomba and plena, keeping Puerto Rican heritage alive block by block. Tonight, the community gathers at The Arbor Loft to honor that work -- and to celebrate a generational handoff as founder Nydia Padilla-Rodriguez prepares to retire in December after four and a half decades of building something that will outlast her. Assistant Artistic Director Jayme Bermudez, who has been with the company for 20 years, takes the reins in January.
