What's Happening

On November 11, 1794, the Haudenosaunee Confederacy and the United States signed the Canandaigua Treaty — still one of the most significant Indigenous-federal agreements in American history, and still in force today. Each year, Ganondagan State Historic Site organizes an annual walk to the Ontario County Courthouse in Canandaigua, followed by a public renewal-of-peace ceremony. If you have never attended, this is one of those occasions that changes how you see the region you live in.
