This fall, Eastman Opera Theatre takes one of Broadway's wittiest masterworks and gives it a punk edge. Bernstein's Candide—the 1974 Chelsea Version, sung in English with chamber orchestra—storms through Kilbourn Hall November 5–8, with performers erupting into the aisles and a cast dressed like they wandered in from a very stylish underground show. Four nights, one iconic hall, and a production that reminds you exactly why Rochester has one of the great music schools in the world.
