Free Outdoor Shakespeare at Highland Park Bowl — Rochester Community Players Present Taming of the Shrew

For 29 years, Rochester Community Players have given the city a gift every summer: free outdoor Shakespeare at Highland Park Bowl. This year it's 'The Taming of the Shrew' — and director Jonathan Lowery has set it in 2015, the dawn of the social media age. Characters text, post to Instagram, and share asides; the audience can follow a live feed on their phones as the story unfolds. It's 400-year-old comedy made genuinely alive, and genuinely free. Performances run Thursday–Saturday through July 25.
