Rochester's northwest side is getting something it's long deserved: a place where kids can discover nature steps from their own neighborhood. The Maplewood Nature Center opens Tuesday, July 21 — a nearly $8 million investment in the Maplewood-Brighton corridor. Mayor Evans: "Think of this as nature's welcoming mat. You just have to bring your sense of curiosity."
City Council President Melendez called the opening part of broader northwest Rochester investments including a renovated library and playground — a deliberate statement about which neighborhoods deserve beautiful public spaces.
