The RPO Piano Festival closes Sunday afternoon with Marc-Andre Hamelin — one of the most technically prodigious pianists alive — taking on Brahms' massive Piano Concerto No. 2. This is not background music. Brahms wrote the concerto over many years and called it a tiny little piano piece with a tiny little scherzo. It is neither tiny nor little. Music Director Andreas Delfs also leads the Haydn Variations in the same program, giving you a complete Brahms afternoon in one of Rochester's finest halls.
