Mayor Lovely Warren has proposed legislation to extend Rochester’s red light camera program for another five years. The City Council will meet on October 9 and vote on October 14.
The initial findings of the city’s second study on the impact the presence of red light cameras have on traffic safety were presented to the City Council in August. The official report should be available to the public in October, but those initial findings pointed to significant positive impact on public safety.
If approved, the program would be extended until December 1, 2015.
I wrote about it over at Reconnect Rochester, so join our conversation there if you have something to say about the red light camera program.
