Adult dogs between seven months and six years old are $70 during the event. Cats in the same age range are $50 — down from Lollypop's normal adult cat adoption fee of $125. For animals six and older, the fee drops to zero.
Senior pets are frequently the most overlooked animals in a shelter. They arrive house-trained, with established temperaments and calm routines. Right now, adopting one costs nothing.
Every animal going home through this event arrives already vaccinated, spayed or neutered, and microchipped. The reduced fee covers all of those services.

Vicky Pape, Lollypop Farm's director of animal placement, described the goal: to "highlight the wonderful animals we have available for adoption and create needed space, expanding our capacity to provide help to even more pets in our community by reducing barriers to adoption." With more than 400 animals currently in the shelter and more expected, creating room matters.
The event is part of BISSELL Pet Foundation's national fall campaign, which runs across 938 shelter partners in 49 states. Since launching in 2016, the program has placed 431,544 animals in homes. BISSELL reimburses participating shelters for each animal adopted through the program.
In 2025, Lollypop Farm placed 3,496 pets in adoptions.

Lollypop Farm is at 99 Victor Road in Fairport. Appointments are required Friday through Monday. Appointment slots become available each Wednesday through the website. Walk-ins are not standard — book ahead.
Fostering is also an option for people not ready to adopt permanently. The shelter provides supplies and veterinary support for foster animals, and a foster period can be a way to test compatibility before making it permanent.
The event ends September 30. The fee reductions apply only through that date.
